Fishing for a million? Sign up for the Reel A Million Fishing Tournament at Lake Thunderbird on Saturday, June 24, hosted by Calypso Cove Marina.

Calypso Cove Marina, through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife, is tagging 25 large mouth bass in Lake Thunderbird. One of these tagged bass will be preselected to have a $1,000,000 prize if you catch it. For a full list of rules and regulations, please read 2017 Reel a Million Tournament Rules.


The fishing tournament takes place from 6 am to 6 pm on Lake Thunderbird. Food, family fun, and activities will be taking place all day at Calypso Cove Marina.

Tagged Fish Prize

25 tagged fish will be released into Lake Thunderbird by the Oklahoma Wildlife Commission. Out of these 25 tagged fish, there will be 1 tagged fish that have been randomly pre-selected by SCA Promotions, Inc. for the grand prize of $1,000,000.

Tagged fish caught after the tournament can be turned into Calypso Cove Marina during normal store hours for a Yeti cooler. This remains valid through operating hours for the 2017 marina season.

How many fish will be tagged for prize?

The Oklahoma Wildlife Commission will tag and release 25 largemouth bass into Lake Thunderbird four days before the tournament starts. Out of these 25 tagged fish, there will be 1 tagged fish that have been randomly pre-selected by SCA Promotions, Inc. for the grand prize of $1,000,000.

How many people will win $1,000,000?

At the most one person will win the $1,000,000 grand prize.

What if I catch a tagged fish after the tournament?

If you buy a tournament entry and catch a tagged fish after the tournament and before Labor Day, please turn the tag for a Yeti cooler.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All participants must have a valid Oklahoma fishing license. You must present your license when you drop your fish off for the weigh-in along with your ticket entry (either printed or on printed) and valid photo ID.

Minors (under the age of 18) are not allowed to fish in the tournament.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There will be parking available in various parking lots at Lake Thunderbird State Park, and shuttles will be provided to Calypso Cove Marina from 6 am to 8 pm.

What’s the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You must show proof of your ticket and check-in either via a printed ticket or on your phone.

Can I update my registration information?

You may update registration through the Eventbrite link.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Unfortunately, it is not.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?

No, the name on the ticket and registration must match the person who attends. Proof of a valid photo ID is required during check-in.
